Your privacy on Anjaan

No name, email, or camera is required. A random session cookie keeps your connection, block list, and reports associated with your browser for seven days. Clearing cookies creates a new session.

Text and reports

Text messages pass through the Anjaan server. The latest 50 messages in an active conversation stay in server memory until the chat ends. If either participant reports the chat, that message history, the reason, anonymous session identifiers, and timestamp are saved in the reporting database for up to 30 days. Blocks and session records expire after seven days. Reports need human review and do not trigger an automatic moderation decision.

Safety review

Authorised operators can inspect recent active text conversations to investigate abuse. Access and moderation actions are audited. Text flagged for a safety review may be retained for up to 30 days. When automatic text checks are enabled, message text is sent to OpenAI for a safety classification; these checks do not record or analyse call audio. Flags require human review and are not proof of a rule violation.

Voice and network information

Microphone access is requested when you start a voice search or choose to join voice from a text chat. Audio is encrypted by WebRTC and is not recorded by this application. In local development, direct connections may disclose a network address to the other participant. Production mode requires a TURN relay and relay-only voice transport. Relay operators process network information and encrypted audio traffic. For abuse protection, the server stores a keyed hash of your network address with your anonymous session for up to seven days. After a human-reviewed restriction, the same network may be temporarily restricted for up to 24 hours. People sharing a network may be affected.

Service providers

The interface loads Manrope and Instrument Serif through Google Fonts. Local voice development may use Google’s public STUN service to discover network connectivity. The public frontend and API proxy run on Vercel. Cloudflare Tunnel carries chat messages to the operator’s Mac, which stores anonymous sessions, blocks and reports. When voice is enabled, Cloudflare TURN relays encrypted WebRTC audio. Hosting logs may include network addresses; the app itself does not log message contents or session tokens.

Choices and limits

Stop or end a chat to release the microphone and end the room. Your browser may retain microphone permission until you revoke it. Anonymous sessions provide limited abuse protection; changing networks can evade a restriction. No service can guarantee that another participant will keep what you share private.

This is an early beta. You can use the report and block controls to flag a conversation. Reports are saved for the operator; they are not an emergency response channel.
